The Ukrainian Riviera?

Have you wondered where in Kiev the Mercedes squad go to unwind and catch some rays? On the edge of Gydropark with a full view of the iron lady and the Lavra, is a little stretch called the French Beach. You know you are there when you see the Jeeps and Mercedes parked among the trees. You can rent loungers and parasols on the spacious beach, and feast on shashlyk with cold drinks at a small bar. Jet-skies are available by the minute.

Pack up your paraglider
and head for the hills!

The addictive sport above the small village of Khodosovka, just ten miles south of Kyiv, is the only place where you can defy the laws of antiquated science. Leonardo da Vinci in 1502 designed the first effective parachute. Since them man has fought gravity in an attempt to be like a bird.
The one high hill near the village is the place to shyly watch or boldly participate. Those with a hunger for adventure and time to invest in learning how to do it right, won't be disappointed. Contact Ruslan Gritsaylo, Sky Paragliding Club, tel:433-1328 or E-mail ruslan.g@operamail.com
